Kokon
A shared daily plan for the whole household.
Kokon is for families whose calendar, shopping and kids' chores live in five different places. It brings them together in an app for phone and tablet, and the materials on this page are mockups, not a working app.
Product status: In development
Platforms: iOS, Android
The problem: five apps and a note on the fridge
One parent has a Google calendar, the other an iCloud one, the shopping list sits in notes and the child's routine hangs on a sheet of paper. Nobody sees the whole day at once.
What we are designing
Kokon is in development and a web version is not planned. The scope:
- A shared family calendar: Google, iCloud and Outlook in one view, each person in their own colour.
- Kids' routines step by step with big buttons and stars. Rewards without rankings.
- Tasks with delegation.
- Meal plan and meal prep with per-person macros, plus a shopping list generated from the plan, with an in-store mode that works offline.
- A tablet kitchen mode: an old iPad or any cheap tablet, kids switch with a PIN, a screensaver.
- Data in the EU (Frankfurt), kids' profiles without an e-mail address, export and delete in one click.
The beta is free. The waitlist rewards a "Founding family" with three months of the Family plan free. [NEED: confirm the reward terms and the beta start date]
How we worked
We started with a family day written out hour by hour. That became mockups of the phone, the tablet and a landing page in Figma. A clickable prototype is next, followed by sprints with a working app and the beta.
What you get if you build something similar with us
- A product that works on several devices at once, for example the phone in a pocket and the tablet in the kitchen, with one data logic.
- Mockups you can show investors or first users before a line of code exists.
- Children's privacy built into the design, not added afterwards.
