Hindbrain Reflex
Shake the phone and the bug reaches your team.
Reflex is an SDK for teams that build React Native apps and want bug reports they can reproduce. A tester shakes the phone, and the developer gets an annotated screenshot, logs and the last fifty steps.
Platforms: iOS, Android
The problem: "it doesn't work" with no detail
A tester writes "something broke after login" in a chat app. The developer asks for the OS version, the phone model and the steps. The answer arrives two days later, if at all.
What we built
Reflex is our own product. We built an SDK and a dashboard that collect what a developer would ask for anyway:
- A shake opens a sheet over the app: report a bug, suggest an idea or vote on someone else's.
- An annotated screenshot, device facts, console logs and failed network requests attach to the report automatically.
- The user's last fifty steps come back as a timeline. Reports made offline wait in a queue and send once the network returns.
- The dashboard has a bug list with filters (status, version, OS, media) and "Copy for AI" and "Export JSON" buttons.
- The ideas board ranks suggestions by votes with a 7-day trend. Duplicates merge and keep their votes.
- The interface follows the phone's light or dark setting.
Reflex is free, with no report quota and no seat count. The SDK code is MIT-licensed on GitHub.
How we worked
We started with a conversation about which details bug reports were missing. A prototype of the in-app sheet came next, then the SDK and dashboard grew in short sprints. Every sprint ended with a build we tested ourselves in other projects.
What you get if you build something similar with us
- An internal tool or a SaaS product for your users, designed and built from the first screen to release.
- An SDK or integration that passes data to your web dashboard.
- One team building both parts, so nothing gets lost at the seam. [NEED: confirm the same people do web and mobile]
Let's talk
Does your bug-reporting process cost your team hours every week? Describe it on the contact page and we will suggest what can be built.
